About this speaker
Yen Ne specializes in the areas of migrant rights, labour rights, human trafficking and migrant smuggling in Malaysia and in Southeast Asia. She has a LLB in Law from the University of Reading, United Kingdom and completed the MSc in International Relations at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore as a recipient of the Lee Foundation RSIS Scholarship. With a tenure at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (UNODC ROSEAP) Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling team, and at the International Labour Organisation in Malaysia, Yen Ne has been instrumental in delivering technical interventions for addressing exploitation of individuals through collaborating with various stakeholders, including government counterparts, civil society organizations, trade
unions, employer associations, criminal justice practitioners, and migrant communities.
