Dr. Rakesh Ranjan is the South Asia Regional Coordinator at the Institute for Human Rights and Business (IHRB). He holds a PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University, India, and has received professional training from prestigious institutions worldwide. With over a decade of experience, Dr. Ranjan's expertise spans international labour migration, immigrant entrepreneurship, and diaspora organisation. He previously served as an Assistant Professor at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
Dr. Ranjan currently manages the 'Responsible Recruitment Register', a tool developed by IHRB to increase transparency around companies’ recruitment policies and their adherence to the Employer Pays Principle. As the South Asia Regional Coordinator, Dr. Ranjan is the point of contact for the IHRB's Migrant Workers programme in the South Asia region, particularly supporting and promoting the work of the Leadership Group for Responsible Recruitment (LGRR) in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and other locations in South Asia.
Dr. Ranjan has recently co-authored a book, "Indian Diaspora Homeland Engagement: Education and Healthcare Sector", published by Oxford University Press.
